Hi, I'm Dominque Lily Lievers

Born and Raised in a small town called Westlock, Alberta, Dominque captured an interest in photography early on but didn't start until 2015. Photography allowed her to meet new people, travel to different places and explore new possibilities in her life. She enrolled in Media Arts (Communication Technology) in high school, taking all three levels offered. She is now a graduate student who took her Bachelor of Design in Photography at the Alberta University of the Arts in Calgary, AB focusing on fine art, portraiture and landscape photography.

She has noticed within her degree that her childhood roots have connected her to specific topics she creates within her current works; her focuses are mythological origin stories, astrology, and spirituality. Aside from her surreal side, she often takes time to focus on awareness within the world regarding social issues, such as mental health, body positivity, LGBTQ2s+, and much more. Symbolism started within her work in 2021, letting the viewer express their thoughts and feelings about what the story of the photograph means instead of being directly told until the statement.
